Pastoral Care

At St. Mary’s, we strive to make sure every member of our parish feels loved and cared for, especially during difficult stages of life. In addition to the pastoral care provided by our priest, there are several ways that members of the parish care for one another.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

Several members of our parish work on knitting prayer shawls throughout the year for the purpose of distributing them to those who may be sick, recovering from an illness or injury, or going through a difficult time. When the shawls are complete, they are blessed by our priest during a Sunday morning service. Anyone is welcome to come by the Parish Office to receive a prayer shawl.

MEALS FOR PARISHIONERS

When an individual or family in the parish is going through a difficult time due to illness or injury, one way we like to help is by providing meals. These can be store-bought, homemade, or come from a restaurant. Typically, our priest will reach out to the individual or family to determine the need for meals.

PARISH PRAYER LIST

St. Mary’s has an ongoing list of prayer requests that is published each week in the Sunday morning bulletin as well as the weekly newsletter. The prayer list is updated regularly and includes requests for members of the parish as well as friends and family of parishioners. If you would like to add someone to the prayer list, please call the Parish Office or let Father Eric know.

BIRTHDAY CARDS

At St. Mary’s, we celebrate upcoming birthdays of parishioners by including them on our parish prayer list and by sending out birthday cards, which are prepared by a group of volunteers. It’s one small way we like to let the members of our parish know they are loved and cared for.

PASTORAL COUNSELING

For those in need of pastoral care or counseling, Father Eric is available by appointment. If you would like to arrange a time to meet with Father Eric, please contact him directly by calling the Parish Office or by email.
