Make a Pledge
In the back of The Book of Common Prayer, in a section entitled, “An Outline of the Faith,” the prayer books asks, “What is the duty of all Christians?” The answer: “The duty of all Christians is to follow Christ; to come together week by week for corporate worship; and to work, pray, and give for the spread of the kingdom of God.
ANNUAL STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN
At St. Mary’s, we encourage our members to practice “first-fruits giving” by making an annual pledge to the church each fall so that our Vestry can make informed decisions regarding the operating budget for the upcoming year. We do this for several reasons:
So that we can meet our monthly, financial commitments and continue to fund the ministries of the parish;
So that we can continue to grow and develop our ministries to the parish and the wider community; and
So we can plan for the future and set aside funds that may be needed for unexpected building repairs and maintenance needs
A pledge to St. Mary’s is not a contract or any kind of binding, legal document, and it can be changed at any time. It is a way of expressing our thankfulness to God for all the many blessings we have been given and a way for us to re-commit ourselves to supporting the work of the church in the upcoming year. We do not receive any outside funding from the diocese or any other organization (with the exception of some of our special outreach ministries). We rely on the generosity of our pledging members and families to continue the important work God has given us to do. So, every pledge—no matter the amount—is important.
Our annual stewardship campaign typically begins in early fall and ends the Sunday before Thanksgiving, but you are welcome to make a pledge to St. Mary’s at any time. If you would like to make a pledge to St. Mary’s, please contact our priest, Father Eric. Please note that pledges to the church are completely confidential, and all financial gifts made to St. Mary’s are tax-deductible.
