Parish Life

As a Christian community, we believe it’s important for us to offer opportunities for members of the parish to come together for fellowship and prayer. Fostering a strong parish community allows us to grow together in our faith.

EPISCOPAL CHURCH WOMEN (ECW)

All women of St. Mary’s are considered part of the Episcopal Church Women (ECW), which regularly meets on the second Thursday of each month at 5:00 pm for a time of fun and fellowship. Usually, the ECW gathers at a local restaurant, and the locations are announced in the weekly newsletter and in the announcements at church.

SUNDAY MORNING FELLOWSHIP

Every Sunday, following worship, coffee and refreshments are provided in the Parish Hall. Volunteers from the parish rotate each week and provide food and drinks for this time of fellowship.

CURSILLO REUNION GROUP

Those who have attended a Cursillo weekend are invited to join our St. Mary’s Cursillo Reunion Group, which meets weekly on Tuesday mornings at 8:00 am for prayer and breakfast. We typically gather at the Cenergy gas station (located on US Hwy. 29, north of Andalusia). For more information about Cursillo, please speak with Father Eric or Terry Kyzar.

COFFEE WITH THE PRIEST

Our priest, Father Eric, is available for coffee and conversation every Thursday from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at the Blue Bird Coffee Company in downtown Andalusia (August through May). Anyone from the parish or wider community is welcome to stop by and visit.

SECOND SUNDAY POTLUCK

On the second Sunday of each month, our parish comes together after church for a potluck lunch in the Parish Hall. All are invited to bring a dish or dessert to share with the rest of the parish.

DAUGHTERS OF THE KING (DOK)

The Daughters of the King is a religious order in the Episcopal Church for women and girls, both lay and ordained, who have made vows of prayer and service to their Church and community. The Blessed Mary Chapter at St. Mary’s meets monthly for prayer and to discuss ways of being of service to others. In order to be considered for membership in the DOK, candidates must first go through a three-month period of discernment and study.

GARDEN GUILD

The Garden Guild at St. Mary’s is made up of a group of parishioners who volunteer an hour or two each month to maintaining the gardens and landscaping around the church. No prior gardening experience is required!
